In January, Dr. Kevin Trimble and I traveled with our wives to El Seminario Bíblico La Cruz in Reynosa, Tamaulipas. After a year of preparation and coordination, the 2007 Pastors Training Conference had arrived. Without a doubt, this was the largest and most productive conference we have ever conducted. Not only did the pastors receive quality academic training, but they also were provided books and other resources to use in the ministry of their local churches.
 By Friday afternoon the men had covered the entire book of Revelation and had completed a course on pastoral counseling, called “How to Help People Change.” Of course, the highlight of the week was the graduation ceremony. This year we awarded certificates to 45 pastors and lay preachers from across Mexico. It truly was a blessed week.
I am sincerely thankful for each of our partners in this year’s Conference. Without your contribution to the Wade Jernigan Scholarship Fund, the 2007 Pastors Training Conference would not have been possible. What a blessing it was to conduct the conference with the knowledge that every expense had been met.
 We are already making plans for next year’s Conference. Responding to the requests of the pastors, we have tentatively chosen the class theme: Pastoral Ethics. Our goal, with the help of our friends and donors, is to provide 50 pastors a $300 scholarship to cover the costs of their travel, room and board, and educational materials. Please keep my staff and me in your prayers as we make the necessary preparations for the 2008 meeting. And again, thank you for being our partner in the ministry.
